Survey Checks

Postby assur191 » Fri Apr 08, 2005 8:06 pm

I have found that receiving small checks for surveys is very frustrating. I don't have a bank account, and a lot of check cashing places don't take out of state checks. The ones that do take most of the check. Does anyone know of any alternatives or ways to get the money? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Where do you live if they don't take out of state checks?

You don't have alot of choices

All the ways to recieve incentives are either points or a checking account is needed. Paypal even requires a checking account. I can only think of one company (online focus group) that sent cash, otherwise always a check. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck!

PayPal doesn't actually require a checking account

You don't have to have a checking account with PayPal. Only if you want to withdrawl funds. I mostly use my PayPal for buying stuff online, in this case you don't need to have a checking account.

Most surveys will allow you to build up your account and will send a check only after you request it.

For example you could let your NFO account get up to $30 or so before requesting payout. You would wait a little longer between checks but maybe they would be more worth the check cashing fees.

GoZing pays by paypal. Im not sure if any of the other ones do or not.

PayPAl debit cards

Postby dvdtech » Sat Jul 16, 2005 8:02 pm

I'm not positive but I think that payPal has a debit card that you can use to access your paypal acct. I don't know if theres a fee or a min. ballance but its worth looking into.

In regards to recieving small checks..

Postby martinmng » Sun Jul 17, 2005 7:09 pm

Hey,

Here's a good idea. Get a checking account! Then you can recieve your survey checks and cash em' out.

I have the same problem as you, and some grocery stores will cash them for you. Just tell them it's a "payroll" check, because the cashier is usually too confused on how to code it. After all, you *did* work for your money.

Places that have worked for me in the past are WalMart and Food Lion. Currently, I use Harris Teeter, who charges $2 to cash each check. Each company has their own set of rules for cashing the checks, so don't get your hopes up when you go in there. I always ask them to run it through their system first, before I endorse it or before they write my info all over the front of it. Just keep an open mind, and good luck!

Also, you could always endorse the check and give it to a friend or family member to deposit into their account. They can give you the money when the check clears.
